Get your Green Fingers on a Brown Bin

In addition to the blue bin scheme Swale Borough Council also offers residents the opportunity to recycle their garden (or green) waste, including:

• Leaves
• Prunings
• Grass and hedge cuttings
• Flowers
• Plants

The garden waste is collected fortnightly; the material is then recycled into compost.

The charge for the service is £40.61 per year for each bin with 26 collections a year. Please note that the charge is for the collection service and not for the brown bin. There is no limit on how many bins a household can have. People with small gardens can also take part in the brown bin scheme by sharing the cost of the bin with neighbours.

The Brown bin should be put out for collection at the same time as your Blue Recycling Bin. Please note that garden waste is collected by separate vehicle and not at the same time as the Blue Bin content.
