Under the Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the Traffic Authority can designate special parts of the highway to provide special parking bays for disabled drivers. These bays are provided and managed by Swale Borough Council, acting with the Highway Authority, Kent County Council.
It should be noted that the applicant will not have exclusive rights to the parking bay, any driver displaying a valid blue badge may park in the bay.

Swale Borough Council does not charge for disabled persons' parking bays.
If your application is refused and you believe you have exceptional circumstances we do have a process to appeal against the refusal.
